Change strategies fail when leaders continue to increase efforts in the wrong places. ‘Context is King’ when accelerating strategy or change - this makes it crucial to identify key factors influencing the organisational context and create a clear, aligned view of where to focus energy and resources.

This two-day programme will:

Explore the context for change from global and organisational perspectives. Explore changing business paradigms. Explore what this means for my organisation. 

What is change? Process and flow 

Definitions, frameworks, theories of change (e.g. Kotter, Lewin, ADKAR, 3C’s, Influence Model etc.). Distinctions made about change vs transformation (transient vs evolutionary) and change and transition (process vs people.

Understanding the Human Element

Understand the human response to change through models (Change curve, Bridges Transition model), identifying and addressing resistance, building commitment, engagement and motivation. 

The importance of Culture

Understanding culture, role of values, mindsets and capabilities in shaping and shifting culture, adopting new behaviours and improving performance. 

Communication as a key change driver

Developing a change story, principles of effective communication in a changing environment, effective and poor communication practices 

Leadership impact and considerations 

Alignment, communication, responsibility and accountability. Personal experience and reflection, impact on the organisation 

Planning for change

Vision and objectives, linking to strategy diagnostics and measurement. Roles and resources (leadership, change agents, HR etc.).
