About This Course

This five days course the participants will gain the fundamental techniques for qualitative data analysis using qualitative data analysis software (QDAS). The course aims to enhance the researchers’ analytical capacity by providing means to store, sort and look for patterns in diverse forms of data using QDA software.

This course is intended for researchers from different disciplines who preferably have a background in or experience in qualitative research methodologies. Furthermore, the course is designed for researchers with no or limited experience in using qualitative data analysis software (QDAS) for research they are currently conducting. This course is intended for research students enrolled for any postgraduate qualification at any institution of higher learning.

Is applicable to industry experts who work in diverse fields such as research and development units, research institutions or academic staff teaching research methodology courses.

Learning Outcome

At end of the short course, the participants will be able to:

• Understand fundamental methodological approaches used in qualitative research
• Understand theoretical frameworks and their application to qualitative data analysis
• Create a project and import data into a qualitative data analysis software (QDAS)
• Use and create queries, searches, matrices and diagrams to analyse data
• Apply and deduce themes from qualitative data
• Interpret data analysis results
• Visualise qualitative data and prepare a research report
